2.25 Inch pipe size - whenever we are asked about specific size of pipe we have to fire back a question. "2.25 in" - is that the outside diameter of the pipe, or the Pipe Nominal Bore? it can make quite a difference. For example a 4" British Standard Pipe is metric 100 MM - BUT the outside diameter of the pipe is 114 mm. So if we assumed the 4" was Nominal bore when in fact it should be outside diameter, the u-bolt would be far too big. And vice-versa.

There are so many more variables than just "2.25 in" pipe size. What material should the u-bolt be, what thread size, should it have a coating, should it have any extended length.

Although our website is in metric, the conversion is straightforward - multiply by 25.4

Now, nominal bore is great but it is much easier to think about the pipe outside diameter or, even better, the distance required between the legs of the u-bolt

What is the dimension on the 15mm T304 Stainless steel Munsen Ring from the base of the wall to the boss tapped M10?

Firstly just to avoid confusion, the image showing dimensions is generic and where it says "M10" is a bit misleading. The product you have asked the question about is actually an M12 boss.

I think I need to get that image changed. It was one we used when we first patented these items, but we have since extended th range to have different boss sizes

I am little uncertain of the question but i think it meas how long is the boss?

The boss is in fact one of these rivet nuts:

From that product we can see the rivet nut is approx 24*25 mm long. Now on the pipe clamp has a material thickness of 3 mm, which means that there should be approx 24- 3 mm extruding. So 21 mm. This is approximate given there can be slight variances on the welding seat, but it should be close enough
