We only ask for the information required to process an order. The account is simply so you can log in and see previous orders, and invoices. We can of course take orders over the phone, in these situations we simply create the account for you and will require the same information. The system will only operate on an account basis.
Graphskill cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by delivery issues provided we have shipped your order at the required time. All couriers can have issues from time to time, locally and nationally, that can affect deliveries. Refunds will not be given for shipping issues that are outside our control. If we do not ship on time, or send by the wrong method, we will re-imburse the difference between standard post, and the expedited costs paid.

We do reserve the right to change your shipping option at no cost to you. This is because certain combinations are just hard to predict. For example high value, low weight products may give you the option for standard Royal Mail. We may for security reasons upgrade that to courier to ensure safe delivery. Do tell us if this is not appropriate to you for any reason

Shipping to non EU countries can be very expensive. We find many overseas companies have their own logistical systems in place which is cheaper for them. If this is the case simply chose "Collect from Factory" during checkout then you will not be charged for delivery and you are free to arrange collection (But please do wait until we tell you the order is ready)
Please do note though that if you are outside the EU you may have to pay import duties / taxes. If this is the case your local customs will contact you directly
Yes, during checkout you can leave a special instruction for delivery. Please note however that we will use our discretion what to pass on to delivery companies. For example we will not pass on "please leave on the doorstep if out" because this is not a secure location

Please do not add messages such as "Please deliver between 10 AM and 3 PM" when choosing Royal Mail or standard courier delivery. This will not be acted upon as we do not book time slots. Also, you do have a choice of an AM delivery and a pre 10 AM delivery. Use those if you require more control
Depends. We have different systems for shipping. Some provide tracking details direct to the customer. Some provide us with the tracking number and some do not have tracking at all. All of our couriers will email tracking details directly to the customer. Royal mail will not and pallet delivery will not
Yes, of course we would be happy to quote for a special manufacture. We do not have a minimum quantity.

When should you use galvanised steel or zinc plated steel?
Both add a layer of zinc to the outside of the product. Zinc plating looks shiny and pretty, galvanised looks dull. But don’t be a magpie and just pick up the shiny object – think about the use.
Both methods add a protective layer of zinc to the steel. Zinc protects the steel by sacrificing itself – called a “sacrificial anode”. When exposed to the atmosphere, the pure zinc (Zn) reacts with oxygen (O2) to form zinc oxide (ZnO), which further reacts with carbon dioxide (CO2) to form zinc carbonate (ZnCO3), a usually dull grey, fairly strong material that stops further corrosion in many circumstances, protecting the steel below from the elements. Zinc is also able to protect at a distance. All of the surface need not be covered with zinc. Ships attach large blocks of zinc to the hulls to protect the hull from corrosion. Ships need not cover the hull with zinc anodes. They are placed near and in electrical contact with the hull.
Hot-dip galvanising results in a metallurgical bond between zinc and steel. It is the process of coating iron, steel, or aluminium with a thin zinc layer, by passing the metal through a molten bath of zinc at a temperature of around 860 °F (460 °C). The finished product can be used up to 200 degrees celsius (above that the zinc can peel)
Zinc plating is performed by cleaning the metal surface with an alkaline detergent, then treating with acid to remove exiting rust. Next, Zinc is deposited on the metal by immersing in a chemical bath containing dissolved zinc. A DC current is applied resulting in the Zinc being deposited on the product
So when to use Zinc Plating, and when to use hot dip galvanising?. Well the shiny pretty one is Zinc plating, and the plating is only typically 3 microns thick, the dull one is galvanised and is typically 50 microns thick and therefore provides much more protection.
So actually the choice is quite simply, where you only need superficial protection, indoors in a dry climate (and want the aesthetic value) go for zinc plating. Outdoors, or a more wet climate use hot – dip galvanise
But wait there is a third method – and one to be wary of. Cold galvanising is really painting with a zinc rich primer. Although this does offer some protection – a protective layer – against rusting, as soon as it is scratched, moisture can get at the underlying steel and therefore cause rust and corrosion. Always ask your supplier if they supply hot dip galvanising – because only that is true galvanising
Graphskill use a refined version of Hot-dip galvanising on all their products. The process is called Hot – Spin Galvanising. Material is immersed in molten zinc at a temperature of around 450 degrees until the temperature of the work is the same as the Zinc. During this process the molten zinc reacts with the surface of the steel to form a series of zinc/iron alloys. These alloy layers protect steel from corrosion for 30-40 years and more. Work is rapidly removed from the zinc, before the zinc on its surface solidifies, the basket is placed in a centrifuge and spun for several seconds. This removes excess zinc from the surface and prevents the items sticking together to ensure a smooth finish. Work is then transferred to a quench tank where it is cooled to allow handling.
Hot-spin galvanising is particularly useful for Threaded fasteners. For ISO metric fasteners the galvanising build up on the thread of one component requires an extra clearance of four times the coating thickness to enable assembly into the mating component. Normal practice would be to galvanise standard tolerance bolts, mating nuts are galvanised as blanks then tapped 0.4 mm oversize with the tread lightly oiled. When assembled the but thread is protected by direct contact with the galvanised coating on the bolt.
Ordered bolts 14mm gap and plates 14mm gap ubolts don’t fit, I asked when ordered if I had ordered the right plates was told yes, when they arrived together I was told they don’t fit and that I should either widen the ubolt or file the hole in the plate or send them back why send them if they don’t fit
